Omnipod 5 is compatible with Dexcom G7 and Dexcom G7 15 Day 

The first tubeless automated insulin delivery system, integrated with both Dexcom G7 CGM Systems, keeps you in automated mode longer with on-body functionality and faster CGM sensor warm-up times.

If you use Omnipod 5, you don't need to change your current Pod prescription to switch between Dexcom CGM Systems. Learn more here about Pod compatibility.

Omnipod 5 is an automated insulin delivery (AID system designed to simplify insulin delivery for your personal needs. When paired with a compatible continuous glucose monitor (CGM) like Dexcom G7 15 Day (ages 18+) or Dexcom G7 (ages 2+), Omnipod 5 adjusts insulin delivery based on current and predicted glucose values.

The Pod receives an updated sensor glucose value and trend and automatically adjusts insulin delivery every 5 minutes, and helps keep you in range1-3 without constant manual input.

More time in automated mode based on up to 60 min warm up time for Dexcom G7 CGM Systems versus 2 hours with Dexcom G6. During sensor warm up the system enters Automated Mode: Limited. The Dexcom G7 15-Day CGM is indicated for adults (18+) and Omnipod 5 users can use the 15-day CGM with the Dexcom G7 receiver or app, while standard G7 Omnipod 5 users can only use the Dexcom G7 app.

Average time in Target Glucose range (from CGM) for standard therapy vs Omnipod 5 in adults/adolescents and children = 64.7% vs. 73.9%; 52.5% vs. 68.0%. Study funded by Insulet.

2. Sherr JL, et al. Diabetes Care (2022). Study in 80 people with T1D aged 2 - 5.9 yrs involving 2 weeks standard diabetes therapy followed by 3 months Omnipod 5 use in Automated Mode. Average time in Target Glucose range (from CGM) for standard therapy vs Omnipod 5 = 57.2% vs. 68.1%. Study funded by Insulet.

3. Pasquel FJ, et al. JAMA Network Open (2025). Prospective pivotal trial in 305 participants with T2D aged 18-75 yrs. Study included a 14-day standard therapy (ST) phase followed by a 13-week Omnipod 5 hybrid closed-loop phase. Mean time in range (70-180 mg/dL): ST vs. 13-week Omnipod 5: 45% vs. 66%, P<0.001.

The Omnipod 5 Automated Insulin Delivery System is indicated for use by individuals with type 1 diabetes mellitus in persons 2 years of age and older and type 2 diabetes mellitus in persons 18 years of age and older. The Omnipod 5 System is intended for single patient, home use and requires a prescription. The Omnipod 5 System is compatible with the following U-100 insulins: NovoLog®, Humalog®, Admelog®, and Kirsty®.​

NEW! Dexcom G7 15 Day CGM System

We’re excited to share, that effective from launch, Omnipod 5 is compatible with the Dexcom G7 15 Day CGM System, part of the Dexcom G7 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Systems.  

No changes are needed to your current Pod prescription. Your existing Pods that work with Dexcom G6 or G7 also work seamlessly with the new Dexcom G7 15 Day.
