Congratulations on being a part of the limited market release (LMR) for the Omnipod® 5 with FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus Sensor Integration

We continue to innovate Omnipod 5 with the goal to help users achieve better glycemic results with less work. This product release expands sensor integration with the FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor. It also introduces two enhancements for a stronger algorithm, making Omnipod 5 more responsive, flexible, and convenient than ever.

Omnipod 5 with FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor integration makes Omnipod 5 available to more people with diabetes.

  • Omnipod 5 with FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor is an integrated experience. Control the sensor directly from the Omnipod 5 App in the dedicated Controller or compatible Android smartphone† (Phone control available at full market release).

Algorithm enhancements designed to improve the user experience.

A new lower target glucose of 100 mg/dL, designed to offer you more flexibility in your diabetes management.

Improved alarm handling makes it easier for users to stay in Automated Mode: The previous “Automated Delivery Restriction” alarm, triggered by high or low glucose events that do not resolve, has been replaced with a “Check Blood Glucose” advisory alarm. Users remain in Automated Mode and continue receiving autocorrections even when the alarm is triggered during prolonged high glucose events.

Now available in a Limited Market Release

We are working with select health care providers to recruit the first patients to experience these new innovations.

As part of the Limited Market Release, you will:

  • Receive a new Controller with updated software and a 60-day supply of Pods
  • Have early access to the recently cleared algorithm enhancements: the 100 mg/dL Target Glucose and the updated advisory alarm “Check Blood Glucose”. Please consult with your doctor regarding updating your settings to learn if the 100 mg/dL Target Glucose is right for you
  • Experience first-hand how the Omnipod 5 System integrates with the FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor, the small, 15-day sensor that is controlled directly from the Omnipod 5 App
  • Share your thoughts and experiences directly with Insulet
  • Help us prepare our teams to offer the best level of support once it is broadly available

To get started

  • Make sure you have the right Pods compatible with the FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor. Your Pod box and Pod tray lid list the sensor compatibility. Please check the Pod box and Pod tray to ensure it includes FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus on the label.

  • Access your Omnipod ID. If you are a current Omnipod 5 user and do not remember your PodderCental/ Omnipod ID or password, visit insuletid.com to reset it prior to login into your Controller.
  • Make sure you have the FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor. Participants may reach out to their healthcare provider for up to 4 sensor samples.
  • Find your settings!
    • New users: Please work with your healthcare provider to determine your settings. DO NOT start to use your system or change your settings without adequate training and guidance from your healthcare provider.
    • Current users: Use the Transfer Settings Guide to transfer your settings to your Omnipod 5 Controller.
