The Omnipod 5 System now integrates with the FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus and 2 Plus sensors! With this new sensor integration, users will benefit from tubeless automated insulin delivery along with the convenience of a 15-day CGM sensor, and the ability to start, deactivate, and view sensor glucose data directly from the Omnipod 5 Controller, and their Android device for FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor users.

How to Prescribe Omnipod 5 with the compatible FreeStyle Libre sensors

For both new and existing Omnipod® 5 patients, Pods compatible with the FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus and FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensors are broadly available through retail pharmacies* and ASPN pharmacy partners. Prescribe the appropriate Omnipod 5 Intro Kit and Pods to provide patients with access to the latest Omnipod 5 experience, including the new Algorithm Enhancements (100 mg/dL Target Glucose option) and FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor integration.

Note: The FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor requires a separate prescription and is necessary to use Omnipod 5 in Automated Mode.

The compatible FreeStyle Libre sensors are prescribed separately, and available through all major retail pharmacies, but cannot be processed by ASPN.

The Omnipod 5 Automated Insulin Delivery System is indicated for use by individuals with type 1 diabetes mellitus in persons 2 years of age and older and type 2 diabetes mellitus in persons 18 years of age and older. The Omnipod® 5 System is intended for single patient, home use and requires a prescription. The Omnipod® 5 System is compatible with the following U-100 insulins: NovoLog®, Humalog®, Kirsty®, and Admelog®. Warning: The Omnipod 5 algorithm should NOT be used by anyone under the age of 2 years old. The Omnipod 5 algorithm should also NOT be used in people who require less than 5 units of insulin per day as the safety of the technology has not been evaluated in this population.
