The Omnipod® 5 System is the only tubeless automated insulin delivery system integrated with the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor. Now with more choices in Sensor integration including the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor, patients can start Omnipod® 5 without changing from their preferred continuous glucose monitor (CGM/Sensor) brand. Omnipod® 5 with FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor integration features system control from a single device, the Omnipod® 5 App on the dedicated Controller, and 15-day Sensor wear.
What is the Custom Foods feature?
The Custom Foods feature allows users to input and save carb amounts for typical meal sizes, favorite foods and snacks such as a smoothie, salad or coffee. In addition, you can add typical meal sizes such as small, medium and large or breakfast, lunch and dinner.
You can select from this list when bolusing for meals from your device using the SmartBolus Calculator for simplified mealtime math.
Do I need to prescribe new Omnipod® 5 Pods for the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor integration?
Yes, Omnipod® 5 with FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor integration requires a new, compatible Pod, which needs a new prescription. For patients who are new to Omnipod® 5, please prescribe to their preferred retail pharmacy or ASPN Pharmacies. For existing Omnipod® 5 users, prescribe to a retail pharmacy. The FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor is prescribed separately (Sensor prescription cannot be processed through ASPN).
Why is there a different Pod for Omnipod® 5 with FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus?
To offer new Sensor options for Omnipod® 5 as quickly as possible, at times it is required that we run development programs in parallel. In the case of the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor integration, this resulted in the need for two different Pods to support Dexcom G6/G7 and Dexcom G6/Libre 2.
How do I prescribe Omnipod® 5 with the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor integration to my patients new to Omnipod® 5?
The Omnipod® 5 System with FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor requires new NRC codes for the Intro Kit and compatible Pods.

What happens if my patient does not have coverage for Omnipod® 5 with FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor integration?
If your patient is not covered for Omnipod® 5 with FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor integration, an Insulet representative will reach out to them to discuss alternative options including advocating for coverage for your Pods or using the Omnipod® DASH System. A separate prescription will be required for the Omnipod® DASH System.
For patients using a Dexcom G6, which version of Omnipod® 5 should I prescribe for them?
While the new Omnipod® 5 Pods are also compatible, for Dexcom G6 we recommend that you continue prescribing the Omnipod® 5 Pods compatible with Dexcom G6 and G7 for your patients using Dexcom G6. The new Pods compatible with the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor have a different NRC code and therefore coverage and availability will be limited at launch.
Am I able to see my patient data in Glooko® if I use Omnipod® 5 with the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor?
Yes, users of Omnipod® 5 with the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor will be able to see their data in Glooko®.

What devices will receive the 3.1.1 update?
If you are using the Omnipod 5 App on an Insulet-provided Controller or compatible Android smartphone, you will receive the 3.1.1 update.

What is new or different with the 3.1.1 update?
The 3.1.1 software update brings new features, including the integration of Omnipod 5 with the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor and the introduction of Custom Foods. Additionally, the update will remove the Temp Basal Presets feature.
Note that the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor option will be available exclusively on the Omnipod 5 Controller.

Why can't I find Temp Basal Presets anymore?
Temp Basal Presets are no longer a feature in the Omnipod 5 System. You can still set a Temp Basal while in Manual Mode by accessing Temp Basal from the Main Menu.
