Your patients can start on Omnipod® 5 and Dexcom G6 with their iPhone after receiving the intro kit and completing onboarding and training.

If your patients get started on Omnipod® 5 using the Insulet provided Controller and want to later change to their iPhone, they can download the Omnipod 5 App for iPhone from the App Store. They will need to transfer their settings and adaptivity will restart when changing devices. Resources are available to guide your patients through this process at omnipod.com/iphonesetup

Omnipod® 5 users who transition from an Android device or an Insulet provided Controller will notice that the user interface is different due to the differences in operating systems.

The Omnipod 5 App for iPhone also offers new product features including a Custom Foods feature, the ability to view real time CGM data from the home screen of the Omnipod 5 App, and an enhanced view of history data. The Omnipod 5 App for iPhone will soon be able to integrate with Dexcom G7. For more information visit www.omnipod.com/hcp/app/iphone

The Custom Foods feature allows patients to input and save carb amounts for typical meal sizes, favorite foods and snacks such as medium sized lunch, protein smoothie, or banana and coffee.

Patients can select from this list when bolusing for meals from their iPhone using the SmartBolus Calculator for simplified mealtime math.

The Omnipod® 5 App for iPhone does not require a separate prescription. Current Omnipod 5 users will be able to download the Omnipod 5 App for iPhone from the App Store. An in-app tutorial will play, reviewing the differences between the Controller and iOS interface.

Omnipod 5 patients will need to transfer their settings which will restart adaptivity.

New Omnipod® 5 patients will require a prescription for the Omnipod 5 Intro Kit and Pods and will complete the current onboarding and training process.

A separate prescription is required for Dexcom G6.

Current Omnipod® 5 patients will continue to use their Omnipod 5 with Dexcom G6 Pods with the Omnipod® 5 App for iPhone.

Switching to a new Omnipod® 5 device will require patients to go through First Time Setup again. Insulin delivery history from previous Pods will be lost when switching to a new device and adaptivity will restart.

Patients will need to identify their current settings from the Controller and input those settings during First Time Setup on their iPhone.

Yes, your patients will use their current current Omnipod® ID and password created during onboarding to log in to the Omnipod® 5 App for iPhone.

Your Omnipod® 5 patients do not need additional training to transition to their iPhone. An in-app tutorial is required after downloading and logging into the Omnipod 5 App on an iPhone which explains the difference between the Controller and iOS user interface.

If you have an iPhone you can download or update your existing Omnipod® 5 Simulator App from the App Store. It will reflect the iOS user interface with the ability to switch to the Controller view.

If you have an Android smartphone you will be unable to view the iOS user interface at this time using the Omnipod® 5 Simulator App. To see the differences, we recommend watching the in-app tutorial available on omnipod.com/hcp/clinical-resources/ios

Yes, patients will need to change their Pod during First Time Setup when changing to an iPhone. We recommend when patients are ready to get started on the Omnipod® 5 App for iPhone, they time this at their next Pod change.

The Custom Foods feature allows users to input and save carb amounts for typical meal sizes, favorite foods and snacks. There are no preset meal sizes or list of foods to select from and this feature is custom to your patient.

Your patients can input and save carb amounts for any food, meal or snack eaten frequently such as a smoothie, salad or coffee. In addition, patients add typical sized meals such as small, medium and large or breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Up to 50 custom foods. Patients can also edit, remove or change the order of foods added at any point in time.

A patient can find their Omnipod ID or reset their password by visiting insuletid.com and select Forgot ID or Forgot Password.

To get started, your Omnipod 5 patients will need to:

1. Download the Omnipod 5 App from the App Store
2. Log in using their Omnipod ID and password
3. Transfer their current Omnipod 5 settings during First Time Setup
4. Start a new Pod

Your patient will be encouraged to confirm their settings with you.

If your patient is new to Omnipod® 5 you will prescribe Omnipod 5 as you do today. Your patient must be on a Dexcom G6 CGM. They will receive an Intro Kit with onboarding instructions to register their device and to schedule training.

Patients will first need to turn on and log in to the Controller provided in the Intro Kit. From there, they will be trained using materials that reflect the iOS interface and can download the Omnipod® 5 App on their iPhone.

Upon downloading and logging into the Omnipod® 5 App on an iPhone, an in-app tutorial will play which reviews the differences between the Controller and iOS interface.

After your patient has successfully completed First Time Setup and transitioned to an iPhone, we recommend powering off the Controller and storing it as a back up device as needed. They cannot use more than one device to control their Omnipod® 5 Pod at a time.

No, patients do not need to change their Dexcom G6 when transitioning to an iPhone. At First Time Setup they will be prompted to discard and change their Pod. During that process, their sensor will unpair with their current device (Controller or Android smartphone) and re-pair with their iPhone.

The Omnipod® 5 App for iPhone is compatible with all iPhone models that run on iOS 17 and iOS 18. This includes the newly released iPhone 16 models.

If your patient is on Dexcom G7 they can use the Insulet provided-Controller or a compatible Android smartphone.

If they prefer not to wait for iPhone control they will need to switch to Dexcom G6 which requires a separate prescription.

If a patient's iPhone runs out of battery, automated insulin will continue to deliver and their Pod and Dexcom G6 will continue to communicate. They won't be able to deliver a bolus or navigate within the Omnipod® 5 App until their iPhone is turned back on.

Your patients can only control their Omnipod® 5 with one device at a time. If they are using an iPhone we recommend powering off their Controller and storing it as a back up device as needed.

If your patient changes devices, they will need to complete first time set up and adaptivity will restart.

At this time the Omnipod® 5 App for iPhone will only be available in English.
