Omnipod® 5's 100 mg/dL Target Glucose setting and FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor integration
Hosted by Nancy Hanna and Dena Gottesman
Omnipod 5 is now even stronger with algorithm enhancements designed for more time in range1 and more time in Automated Mode. In this episode, we break down what they are and what they look like in practice.
Hosts Dena Gottesman MS, RD, CDCES and Nancy Hanna RN, BSN, CDE are joined by Dr. Nader Kasim, a pediatric endocrinologist at Corewell Health living with type 1 diabetes, to explore the latest updates coming to Omnipod 5.
Dr. Kasim shares his first-hand experience as a participant of the Limited Market Release of this product. He shares how the 100 mg/dL Target Glucose setting enables more responsive insulin delivery to help him spend more time in range1 and how these enhancements can help keep users in Automated Mode longer.
This episode also discusses how the integration with FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus offers more options for people to experience the benefits of AID with their preferred sensor, and more options for real-time glucose monitoring data with the LibreLinkUp app.

In a simulated analysis, the 100 mg/dL Target Glucose (TG) setting demonstrated superior Time in Range (70-180 mg/dL) compared with results at the 110-150 mg/dL TG settings in a real-world population of people with T1D using Omnipod 5. Differences in mean TIR for 100mg/dL vs 110mg/dL, vs 120 mg/dL, vs 130 mg/dL, vs 140 mg/dL, vs 150 mg/dL, were 2.5%, 4.8%, 9.8%, 15.3%, and 20.8%, respectively. For each comparison, the lower bound of the one-sided 95% Confidence Interval (CI) was >0%, meeting the pre-specified superiority criterion. Analysis not controlled for ISF, ICR, % time in Automated Mode and number of bolus/day. Data on File. RF-012026-00057.
