Discontinuation of the Omnipod® Insulin Management System

The Omnipod^® Insulin Management System will be phased out with an end date of 30th June 2026 in United Kingdom. We encourage all current users to begin the process of switching to the Omnipod DASH^®, or their treatment of choice, by making an appointment with their Healthcare Professional to discuss appropriate options. 

At Insulet, our goal is to help more people living with diabetes to enjoy simplicity, freedom and healthier lives. Over the last few years, we have expanded choices for our Omnipod users to include the Omnipod DASH^® and most recently, the Omnipod^® 5 Automated Insulin Delivery System*. As more Omnipod users move onto these options, we have made the decision to retire the Omnipod^® Insulin Management System and focus on supporting and enhancing our latest technology.
*Omnipod 5 Automated Insulin Delivery System is subject to availability depending on your location. 

Yes, the Omnipod® Insulin Management System is still safe and effective for use by people with insulin-requiring diabetes. Pods that are past their Use By date, however, should not be used. Please note, the Omnipod® Insulin Managment System Pods are not compatible with Omnipod DASH® or Omnipod® 5.

Our team will be available to provide you with continuous support for your Omnipod, regardless of which system you are on. This includes the Omnipod® Insulin Management System, Omnipod DASH® and Omnipod® 5.

Omnipod® Insulin Management System Pods will no longer be available for purchase directly from Insulet after 30th June 2026.

No, only the original Omnipod® Insulin Management System will be discontinued, which includes both the Personal Diabetes Manager (PDM) and the Pods that make up this system. We remain committed to supporting and developing other products in the Omnipod family, including the Omnipod DASH® and the Omnipod® 5.

If you are a current user of the Omnipod® Insulin Management System, we encourage you to make an appointment with your healthcare professional as soon as possible. This will give you time to discuss options with your doctor and decide which treatment will be best for you. Insulet will also be reaching out to you directly to keep you informed of important dates and help ensure your treatment continues to run smoothly.

The Omnipod 5 System works with compatible Sensors to continuously adapt and automatically deliver insulin according to the user's personal needs. The Omnipod DASH system is not integrated to any Sensor and is not capable of automated insulin delivery, but rather delivers insulin based on the user's programmed basal rates.
