Planning to Connect a Different Sensor?
Here’s everything you need to know about connecting to a different Sensor, staying connected and ensuring uninterrupted access to your Pods.
Important: Your NDSS Record Must Match Your Omnipod® Account. To avoid delays at the pharmacy, your Omnipod® account must reflect your current NDSS Sensor Record. If they don’t match, you may not be able to access the correct Pods. Once your NDSS update is complete, you must notify Omnipod® Customer Operations via the contact details at the bottom of this page.
Steps to Follow If you Plan to Change Sensors:
1. Consult Your Healthcare Professional (HCP):
- Discuss your intention to connect to a different Sensor with your HCP.
- If your HCP supports the change, they will update your Sensor choice on the NDSS Portal.
2. Ensure You Have Enough Pods:
- Make sure you have enough Pods compatible with your current Sensor to last until your transition date.
3. Order, Collect and Check at the Pharmacy:
- All Pods can be ordered and collected from NDSS Community Pharmacies.
- When collecting, always check the top right corner of the Pod box to confirm it matches your new Sensor type:
For FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus, look for the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus logo


For Dexcom G6 or G7, ensure the box lists Dexcom G6/G7 compatibility


Tip: You can also confirm compatibility by checking the Pod tray lid.

Note:
- Sensor changes must be made between Pod changes.
- A single Pod cannot connect with more than one brand or model of Sensor during it’s wear.
- You must be in Manual mode to change Sensor type.

How to Notify Us of a Sensor Change
To ensure uninterrupted access to Pods, your Omnipod® account must match your updated NDSS record.
