Omnipod® NDSS Subsidy

After partnering with the inspiring type 1 diabetes community, the team at Omnipod® Australia was delighted to announce that, as of 1 December 2022, Omnipod DASH® Pods were listed on the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS).

To access the NDSS subsidy for Omnipod DASH® Pods you must:

  1. Be living with type 1 diabetes and registered with the NDSS.

  2. Lodge the NDSS Insulin Pump Consumable Access Form that is certified by your diabetes health professional, nominating Omnipod® as your insulin pump.

  3. Be an Omnipod DASH® System user under your NDSS registration, in one of the two ways listed below.

Become a registered Omnipod DASH® System user

To access subsidised Pods, your NDSS registration must reflect that you are an Omnipod DASH User. This can be done by either a one-off payment covering 4-5 years* of access similar to other insulin pump systems (this may be covered by private health insurance), or by paying a no lock-in subscription fee to Insulet Australia for each box of Pods**.

*Period may vary depending on your private health insurer.
**Access to subsidised Pods conditional to no lock-in subscription payments being met.
The NDSS co-payment amount of $30.90/box for general & $23.40/box for concession card holders is also payable to the NDSS.

WITH
Private Health Insurance

You may be eligible through your private health insurance policy, check with your insurer about your eligibility to access Omnipod DASH® System. If approved, your insurer will cover the cost to access the Omnipod DASH® System, providing eligibility to NDSS subsidised Pods as a registered Omnipod user. The standard warranty as applied by the insurer exists.

Once all three requirements are met you can access subsidised Pods through an NDSS Access Point for the applicable NDSS co-payment.

The NDSS co-payment amount is $30.90/box for general & $23.40/box for concession card holders.

WITHOUT
Private Health Insurance

Without private health insurance, you will need to purchase a no lock-in subscription payable to Omnipod Australia at a cost of $168.27/box of Pods to access the Omnipod DASH® System, providing eligibility to NDSS subsidised Pods as a registered Omnipod user. The no lock-in subscription can be made in either monthly or quarterly instalments.

Once all three requirements are met you can access subsidised Pods through an NDSS Access Point for the applicable NDSS co-payment.

Access to subsidised Pods conditional to no lock-in subscription payments being met.

The NDSS co-payment amount is $30.90/box for general & $23.40/box for concession card holders.
