Diagnosed on 11 August 2005, I have lived with Type 1 diabetes for nearly two decades. For most of that time, I relied on multiple daily injections (MDI). It worked, it was a system that allowed me to keep my diabetes mostly invisible to the outside world.

Bec was diagnosed January 2025 at the age of 39, can now relate even more to her daughter Elliott, who was diagnosed with in June 2024 at 6 years old. While still new to navigating the life of diabetes management, they're determined not to let it stop them from doing anything they love.

I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 14 years old and I am now 31. There have certainly been some tricky times in those years, but it has never held me back from anything. I can’t change that I have type 1 diabetes, but I know it does not define me.
