Our Dedication Is To Make Diabetes A Smaller Part Of Life

Life with diabetes can be incredibly challenging. At Insulet, we’re not only developing innovative technology for people with diabetes; we are also engaged members of the diabetes community. We are dedicated to enhancing awareness of the physical and psychological aspects of diabetes and improving access to care.

We collaborate closely with a variety of organizations and individuals within the diabetes community who share our mission to make diabetes a smaller part of life. The following organizations work to raise awareness and improve access to care for your diabetes, in addition to providing resources that help you learn how to better care for yourself, connect with other people, and stay informed.

Advocacy Initiatives and Event Sponsorships

Beyond our partnerships, we also collaborate on advocacy initiatives and fundraising events across the United States.

Bag of Hope (BOH):

The JDRF Bag of Hope® provides parents of newly diagnosed children with helpful information and support to help them navigate their adjustment to life with Type 1 Diabetes. This excellent resource for caregivers includes the Omnipod® System’s SmartSitters Guide, as well as a Demo Pod.

College Diabetes Network:

As a Corporate Member, we work closely with the College Diabetes Network to address the challenges faced by young adults with Type 1 Diabetes as they transition to life on college campuses. Some of our recent initiatives include the College Diabetes Week Pod Challenge and the Newly Diagnosed Young Adult Program.

One Nation Summits:

These all-day educational events for the Type 1 Diabetes community bring together researchers, healthcare providers, and families affected by diabetes. Insulet has a supporting booth at each of the 50+ summits nationwide, in addition to sponsoring the “Kids Zone” at 15 of summits.

JDRF One Walk:

The largest Type 1 diabetes event in the world, the JDRF One Walk is a fun, family-friendly event where walkers, volunteers, and sponsors raise money to make living with Type 1 Diabetes safer and to accelerate breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications. Insulet supports local teams across the United States, and our corporate headquarters supports the New England One Walk.

Team Bike Beyond:

We were a national sponsor of Team Bike Beyond in 2017, an international group of 20 cyclists with Type 1 Diabetes who spent ten weeks riding from New York City to San Francisco. In addition to raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for research, they shattered stereotypes by showing America how to thrive with a chronic illness.

Diabetes Sisters:

One of the world’s premier forums for women with diabetes, this event aims to educate women with diabetes to allow them to live full, happy lives with the disease. In 2017, Insulet sponsored the program “Sex, Insulin and Rock and Roll.”

Diabetes Unconference:

We supported two 2017 “unconferences,” events where every participant can ask questions and learn from their peers in a safe setting without judgment.

Taking Control of Your Diabetes (TCOYD):

This organization motivates people with diabetes to take control of their condition and provides innovative continuing education to people with diabetes and their healthcare providers. Insulet participated in several TCOYD events through corporate sponsorships, exhibits, and the “Pod Challenge.”

American Diabetes Association Walks and Tour De Cure:

We provided field support in a number of American Diabetes Association Walks throughout 2017.

Riding on Insulin:

This organization empowers and connects the global diabetes community through action sports and shared experiences. We are a long-term corporate sponsor and exhibitor at this organization’s camps across the United States.

Children with Diabetes:

We have been a supporter for many years of the Friends for Life Conference in Orlando, Falls Church, and Anaheim through an exhibit, “Pod Challenge,” Lightening Labs, a focus group, and presentations.

DiabetesMine D-Data Exchange and Innovation Summit:

We are active participants in the DiabetesMine™ Innovation Summit and D-Data ExChange, which are events that gather patient advocates, device designers, regulatory experts, clinicians, and others to improve collaboration among these groups, and accelerate progress on technology to support people with diabetes.

Diabetes Educational Tools and Video Tutorials

Beyond training our Podders™ how to use the Omnipod® System, our resource guides, training videos, and blog are full of helpful resources for the diabetes community. Many posts are written by Certified Diabetes Educators (CDEs) and current users of the Omnipod® System who aim to tackle frequently asked questions and share their experiences with diabetes.
